In the low-scarring technique, we make an incision around the areola and, from there, make a second incision vertically downwards. This allows us to keep the subsequent surgical scars to a minimum.<\/p>\n<p>In the T-technique, an additional incision is made in the crease beneath the breast. This combines with the vertical incision to create a T-shaped scar. Further variations are possible, and the vertical incision can be extended to the left or right. Such procedures do not create a T-shaped incision, but instead result in a smaller L-shaped incision.<\/p>\n<p>In the second stage of breast lifting, the glandular tissue within the breast is shifted to a new location; this allows us to move the breast to a higher position with a more rounded shape. To ensure that the tissue doesn\u2019t simply droop again with time, we use the large chest muscle as an anchorage point. We particularly recommend this method if the breast\u2019s glandular tissue has slipped over an implant that is sitting too high. This situation is often referred to as the \u2018waterfall effect\u2019. In breast lifting surgery, we remove excess tissue and tauten what remains. We also return the areola to its correct position, higher on the breast. The breasts may form back of their own accord to a certain extent, depending on the condition of their tissue. If it can be assumed that the breast tissue won\u2019t reduce in size on its own, in some circumstances breast lifting treatment could become an option.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, if a patient wishes to have breast lifting treatment directly after implants have been removed, we can accommodate this. They are rather inconspicuous at first before taking on a reddish colour that becomes lighter over the course of around 18\u00a0months. After a few years, the scars are barely visible.<\/p>\n<p>At Central Aesthetics, we always opt to make incisions that result in the least possible scarring. Most patients worry above all about the vertical scar leading down from the areola. However, this scar fades considerably over time, so much that it is no longer noticeable. The incision around the areola, on the other hand, can alter the colour gradient between the lighter breast skin and the darker pigment of the areola. As a result, the border between the two areas does appear more marked after the breast lift. Studies into the technique we use have shown that the results can last for more than 10\u00a0years. Of course, how long the results last varies for each patient depending on individual factors, including the condition of their glandular and skin tissues. The proportion of glandular and fat tissues are different for every woman\u2019s breast. After two weeks, they can resume gentle cycling and leg training; after four weeks, they can also start general strength training. You can resume gentle everyday activities such as shopping, showering and driving straight away.
